macOS

Apple Silicon (M1–M4)
 
⚠︎ First time opening it on your Mac
The current installer is not signed by Apple yet, so the first installation needs one Terminal command to remove macOS quarantine from this app only.
  1. Drag Multuser into the Applications folder.
  2. Open Terminal, paste the command below, press Return, and enter your Mac password if asked:
    sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Multuser.app
  3. Open Multuser from Applications. If macOS still asks, click Open.
Run this only for the exact Multuser path shown above. It is needed once for the first installation; normal in-app updates do not require Terminal.

Windows

Windows 10 / 11 · 64-bit
 
⚠︎ First time opening it on Windows
Windows shows a one-time SmartScreen notice because the current installer isn't signed yet.
  1. Double-click Multuser-Setup.exe. Windows Defender SmartScreen may say "Windows protected your PC".
  2. Click the small More info link, then click the Run anyway button that appears.
  3. Follow the setup wizard. It creates the Multuser shortcuts for you.
Future releases can be downloaded and verified from inside Multuser with Update now.
